Classical Mat Pilates

Nurturing mind, body, and creativity through the art of movement.

Chantay discovered the benefits of the Classical Pilates Method in 2005. Her foundation in performing arts, wherein she spent years developing breath control, strength, flexibility, and grace through singing and performing modern, jazz, and ballet dance choreography on stage, led her to embrace the deep breathing and movement principles of Classical Pilates with passion and purpose.

Pilates, founded by Joseph Pilates, is a movement method guided by six core principles designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. Throughout Chantay’s diverse career in health and wellness, including personal training, aerobics instruction, managing and owning a nutrition store, and her work as a Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist™, Pilates has remained an integral part of her own fitness and well-being. She earned her Classical Mat Pilates certification in 2015 and continues her education with a focus on core stability, flexibility, balance, and injury prevention.

Chantay views Pilates as a movement art, one that invites creativity, presence, and connection. This perspective has inspired her newest offering: “Paintings & Pilates” events, where she collaborates with local artists to pair Classical Mat Pilates sessions with guided art classes. These events nurture creativity through visual expression and mindful matwork, designed to help you Move with Ease.

"Change happens through movement, and movement heals."

With Chantay I have been learning to heal my body with my body. The interconnection she emphasizes between Pilates and the rest of our experience helps me pay more attention to how I hold myself throughout the day. Her teaching stays with me as a reminder to be more intentional about breathing and posture and the benefits that it can provide as we live and age.
